Early Pay

Early Pay Empowers Your Everyday!

What is Early Pay?

Early Pay is a new program that allows members to receive their regular direct deposit paycheck up to one or two days earlier than their scheduled payday. It’s a simple, convenient way to access your money sooner and stay on track with your financial goals. Early Pay is available at no cost to all Crane Credit Union members. Read below for more details about how the program works.

How Does Early Pay Work?

When you set up direct deposit, your employer sends an ACH (Automated Clearing House) file to your financial institution several days before your actual payday. This lets the institution know who should be paid, the amount, and on what day.

When a financial institution offers Early Pay, this means that they can release funds upon receiving the ACH files instead of waiting for the designated pay day. What this means for members is that as soon as the ACH file is received, they will have access to their money resulting in pay-days that can be up to two days early.

Crane Credit Union members do not need to take any additional steps to receive Early Pay. The program is automatically available to members with qualifying direct deposits. Once your account is identified as eligible, your paycheck will begin posting early—no enrollment, log-in, or additional action required.

Your funds will be deposited into the same account you already use for your direct deposit. If you have questions about your eligibility, please stop by your local branch and we’ll be happy to assist you.

What is a Qualifying Account for Early Pay?

Recurring payroll deposits and eligible federal benefit payments, including Social Security, disability benefits, and tax refunds, fall within the Early Pay qualification guidelines.

What are the benefits and what are the drawbacks to Early Pay?

Early Pay can help members get a head start on paying bills or setting aside money for an emergency fund, retirement, or other savings goals. By providing access to your paycheck sooner, it can help bridge the gap between paydays and due dates, offering a little extra breathing room when it matters most.

It’s important to note that Early Pay is not guaranteed. The timing depends on when your employer submits payroll information. If payroll information is received later than expected, there may not be enough time to release funds early. This does not mean your paycheck will be late, it simply means it may arrive on your regularly scheduled payday instead of early.

Early Pay does not provide additional funds beyond what you have earned. It’s simply a convenient benefit of membership at Crane Credit Union. As always, we encourage members to continue building strong financial habits and planning carefully for each payday.
