Recently, Crane Credit Union staff participated in community service projects to support local schools in the communities we serve. Staff from all 18 Branches, Support Departments and our Corporate Office volunteered their time and abilities and the results were amazing! As a whole, CCU donated over $19,000 across 19 school districts. Each project is highlighted below.
Spencer-Owen Community Schools
- Moved the Backpack Buddies program from the middle school to the high school
- Donated money to the school’s lunch fund

- Donated items to the school’s Family Resource Room

- Donated schools supplies at the start of the school year
- Donated Crane t-shirts to the nurse’s office

- Landscaped around the high school
- Painted the food pantry room
- Purchased lunch for staff

- Organized the teachers’ work room and transformed it into a multifunctional space
- Purchased new storage and organizational items to help create a structured space for teachers to work and prepare

Linton-Stockton School Corporation
- Treated teachers to a Welcome Back luncheon
- Gave away prizes as an added bonus!

- Relocated and organized the school’s Care Closet
- Purchased new storage units and stocked them full of essential items

Custer Baker Intermediate School
- Purchased items for both the Cub Pantry and Hope Bags programs
- Volunteered time to organize and restock food/supplies

Bloomfield Elementary School
- Purchased landscaping supplies and rock, then installed it along the front entrance
- Purchased two new benches to top off the new look!

Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation
- Purchased and assembled personal hygiene packages for Hangers, an organization that supports all EVSC schools
- Landscaped the entrance to Tekoppel Elementary

Mitchell Community Schools
- Participated in a clothing and shoe donation program
- Donated funds for student Chromebook insurance
- Purchased Crumbl cookies for staff — yum!

- Donated and served lunch for two days of band camp
- Provided funding for new drums

Cloverdale Community Schools
- Hosted a carwash for the Cloverdale wrestling team, which raised over $2,100 from the community
- Purchased new wrestling equipment
- Purchased new shoes for Cloverdale elementary students

- Purchased, collected, and packaged essential supplies for the North Posey Viking Vault and Mt. Vernon Wildcat Closet

Highland Park Elementary School
- Hosted a school supply drive and donated backpacks and supplies to Highland Park Elementary students
- Donated funds to help outfit the school’s new “Amygdala Reset Room”
