Franklin Community Middle School and Crane Credit Union are hosting a Reality Store event for the 8th grade students on Friday, May 18th.

The Reality Store is a simulation that helps students appreciate the realities of life and achieve a better understanding of personal finance. Prior to the activity, each student is assigned an educational level based on their GPA and the average salary of a 28 year old working with that degree. The students visit 16 stations (staffed by volunteers) to determine how to spend their salaries and make ends meet, budgeting for transportation, housing, clothes, and food, etc. This wonderful volunteer opportunity enlightens students and encourages them to consider extending their educational career.

Consumers that live or work in the following counties are eligible to join Crane Credit Union: Bartholomew, Brown, Clay, Daviess, Dubois, Gibson, Greene, Hendricks, Jackson, Johnson, Knox, Lawrence, Marion (Center, Decatur, Franklin, Lawrence, Perry, Pike, Washington, and Wayne townships), Martin, Monroe, Morgan, Owen, Orange, Parke, Pike, Posey, Putnam, Sullivan, Vanderburgh, Vermillion, Vigo, and Warrick.
